Apr 9, 2018Quackenbush, of Route 362, Bliss, died Monday March 26, 2018 at Wyoming County Nursing Facility, Warsaw, at the age of 95.She was born April 10, 1922 in the Town of Pike, New York a daughter of Roy A. and Daisy (nee Berry) Flint. She was a graduate of Bliss High School and Syracuse University with degrees in English and Psychology. She worked during World War II making parts for the landing crafts used on D-Day. She was the cafeteria manager for the Bliss Elementary School for many years.She was a member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Hermitage and was a previous longtime member of the Calvary Alliance Church in Arcade. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, quilting and reading.Her husband — Robert E. Quackenbush whom she married May 4, 1945 in Rush, New York died June 30, 2015.She is survived by two daughters — Alan (Judy) Sawyer of Attica, Donna (Dan) Barber of Bliss; five grandchildren — Matthew (Darcy) Sawyer, Timothy (Cathy) Sawyer, David (Linda) Barber, Erica (Philip) Burger, Adam Barber; nine great-grandchildren; a sister — Lunamae Flint of Pike and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister — Gladys Hotchkiss.Friends may call Tuesday March 27, 2018 from 3-7 p.m. at W. S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Main St., Arcade. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the New Beginnings Fellowship Church, 4377 Route 78, Gainesville.
